NANTUCKET, MA – Looking for something to do with the kids during April school vacation week?  Spring 2013
Dear S.T.A.R. Families and Friends,
Spring is finally around the corner and we are excited about starting our next session of programming. It is always nice to shift gears and put away the layers of winter clothing. It’s time to break out the swimsuits and sneakers for Adapted Swim Lessons and Krav Maga. We are happy to be partnering with the NCMC again for a six week session of music therapy at the end of April ….. What a terrific few months we have ahead of us!
S.T.A.R. is excited to be celebrating its 10th anniversary! This years annual gala Night Under the S.T.A.R.s”  will be Saturday, May 4th at the Chicken Box- so save the date. We hope you all can join us as we take a  look at the past decade and celebrate “All That We CAN Do”
On a more reflective note- we just finished our 6th season of STARs on Ice and this session was particularly satsifying. We saw a number of skaters skate independently for the first time, two of which were new to the sport of skating! We witnessed one of our most faithful participants able to skate independently on the ice for the entire 50 minutes, week after week! Most of all we enjoyed the camaraderie of all the skaters and were delighted by their joy and enthusiasm. A very special thank you to our staff and volunteers who always see the possibilities of what can be done and to our families for having so much faith in us and your childrem. Most of all- thank you to the 18 skaters who worked so hard., laughed so robustly and taught us so much!
Happy Spring!
